Think your card is indulgent? We take a look at the credit cards of the rich and famous, from private island rentals to cosmetic surgery reward programs.

So you've decided you want a credit card. It doesn't matter that you already have more money than God and could probably buy a small suburb with the loose change from down the back of the seat in your Bentley (the back seat of course - you're aware that your car has a front seat because that's where your driver sits, but you've never visited it).

But you don't want just any credit card. Like your other possessions, you'll gladly pay a premium for exclusivity. After all, you can't impress the other gentlemen down the local croquet club with any old credit card - it must be something special.

Luckily for the world's elitist twats, there are credit cards that are so exclusive that ownership is by invitation only. While their rewards are often extravagant to the point of ridiculous, these cards are big business in the high end of town.

Take the American Express Centurion (also known as the elusive 'Black Amex') for example. While speculation was rife for many years, it is now confirmed that the card does indeed exists, although only 10,000 have been issued. Holders include Lindsay Lohen, who reportedly lost hers while out trolloping around town one night. To be eligible, you must spend at least US$250,000 per year and membership gives you access to private jets and a personal travel consultant.

Then there is the purple card by the UK's leading private bank Coutts & Co, held by as few as 100 people, including Queen Elizabeth II. To be offered one, you must have at least £500,000 in liquid assets held with the bank.

The Neiman Marcus In-Circle gives rewards to customers who spend large amounts in their Dallas-based luxury retail store. Spending US$300,000 in store earns you a trip to Italy for a custom Ferragamo shoe fitting, or a trip to New York Fashion Week. US$2 million earns you a back-stage visit to the set of The Young and the Restless.

The reward programs of these elite credit cards are focused upon the jet-setting executive. Common redemption options include access to private jets, a private island (offered on the Citibank Ultima), fast cars, wine clubs, hotel stays and yacht rentals.

Some cards even offer customized rewards where you may negotiate with your bank on what you would like your points redeemed upon. Some examples include antiques, cars and even cosmetic surgery.
