American Express have demonstrated they're listening to their business customers - the Business Accelerator card offers monthly statements that meet ATO requirements for GST reporting and the option to download your statements in Quicken, MYOB, or Microsoft Excel format. You can also have supplementary cards (that also earn reward points).
The rewards program is also impressive. You'll earn two points per one dollar spent (for the first $150,000 then one point per dollar spent thereafter) and points can be redeemed on flights (with no blackout dates or restrictions), shopping vouchers or a credit toward your balance.
The card also offers 55 days interest free and the $160 annual fee is tax deductible if the card is used exclusively for business purposes.
The interest rate is 20.49% (as it is for all American Express cards), but with the interest free period, it's unlikely to matter to most businesses.
In summary, there is now officially no excuse for a business to not have a credit card. As long as you pay off your balance within 55 days and only use the card for business purposes, it shouldn't cost you a cent. Plus, you'll be earning points toward a great rewards program. If you're still not convinced, you can try the card and if you're not satisfied after 90 days American Express will refund your annual fee.
