The Frequent Flyer program is, in my opinion, the best major rewards program currently offered in Australia. So it's good to see some FF cards catering to the mid-range market.
The earning ratio is great for a low-end card - 1 point per $1 spent up to $1,500 monthly and 1 point per $2 spent up to $5,000. There's also no cap on the number of reward points you can earn. The card also offers the standard ANZ worldwide credit card replacement and Falcon security program.
Both the annual fee ($95) and the interest free period (44 days) are average for a card in this segment of the market.
On the downside, the purchase and cash rates are high (19.74% and 20.99% respectively) and, perhaps somewhat confusingly, the card doesn't come with travel insurance.
ANZ are also currently offering 2.9% on balances transferred for 18 months.
Overall, if you're after a card purely to build up Frequent Flyer points for an impending holiday, this is the card for you. Just avoid letting anything lapse outside the interest free period or using the card for cash advances.
