Take that, logic!
The other day I reviewed the Citibank Clear Platinum and remarked on the absurdity of the card. It is platinum by name only - the features (most notably the interest rate) are modest and the card lacks any of the signature extravagance found in other platinum cards.
Well, the Citibank Clear continues the cuckoo traditions of its cousin. For some reason unbeknown to those of us gifted with a three-digit IQ, the Citibank Clear has a higher purchase rate that the Citibank Clear Platinum. It also has the same interest free period (55 days) and the same cash rate (21.74%).
Maybe they got them confused...
Luckily, logic kicks in the for the remaining card features. It has a lower annual fee ($65) than the platinum and doesn't come with travel insurance or a rewards program.
On its own, this is actually an OK card. 15.99% on purchases, 55 days interest free and 1.9% for six months on balance transfers. However, you're probably better off going for the Citibank Clear Platinum with its lower interest rate and better range of features.
