Card applications always rejected

« Back to question board
I keep getting knocked back for a credit card, but they don't tell me why. Is there any way I can find out?
Typically not. You could approach the financial institution and seek some feedback. You could also try obtaining a copy of your credit rating to check if you have any defaults or bankruptcies listed.

You can get a copy of your credit report from http://www.vedaadvantage.com/

If there is something on your report which you believe is an error, you can contact Veda directly to dispute the item.

You said you 'keep getting knocked back', which suggests you've applied for a few cards recently. A high number of recent credit enquiries on your credit file can make some lending institutions nervous - they assume you were knocked back from those other providers for a reason.

You may also be rejected based upon your income or employment status.

If you're a student, consider student credit cards which usually accept applicants receiving Centrelink payments.
