David Jones Amex Travel Program

When you say you can redeem gift points for the travel program from the David Jones credit card does that mean the gift points will be converted into the airlines frequent flyer points or given in vouchers?

According to the David Jones American Express website:
The redemption of Gift Points will be solely administered by American Express. Gift Points redeemed [...] will entitle you to prepaid travel (of a nominated value) booked online, through American Express Membership Travel Services or any travel agent nominated by us from time to time. All redemptions relating to car hire, cruises, land packages and travel insurance cannot be made online, to make these bookings please contact us on 1300 36 89 89, Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm (AEST). A minimum redemption amount of 1000 Gift Points applies. All Points for Travel - travel bookings are subject to availability. Charges, levies and taxes may apply.
